we are part of ECL solution, but they are only data center company using hydrogen and tend to do smaller centers not the mega centers the hypervisors build.

The initial ECL 1MW system is what 2 years old now?

Why are we losing to ECL ? Andy? anyone?

Is this not the same thing we were going to use in NY for the STAMP project? If so, this does not bode well for us either.

Massena:

Air Products has cancelled its plans to construct a 35 metric ton per day facility to produce green liquid hydrogen in Massena, New York, and related liquid hydrogen distribution and dispensing operations. The decision to cancel this project is based on recent regulatory developments rendering existing hydroelectric power supply ineligible for the Clean Hydrogen Production Tax Credit (45V) as well as slower than expected development of a hydrogen mobility market in the region.

The downfall to under a dollar will continue. Come back and thank me later . IMO

Banger / IGTM - Maybe Plug will have some spot hydrogen in 2026 - 2027 when the Texas Plant is online.

That must be why Plug made the Spot Pricing announcement the week before 2024 Earnings.

Banger - If I had access to hydrogen from Linde and Air Products at $10; I would have a Spot Price of $10+.

Why not arb your third party supplies ?

Or even sell my Green H-2 at a premium , and sell grey to my existing customers, who are already buying grey hydrogen anyway?

Having price transparency is critical to a spot market.

You would think that Plug would follow a major press release about posting spot prices, that we could see Plug's Hydrogen Spot Price.

Why can't anyone find out what PLUG's posted price is ?

I am against waste, wasting food , wasting money are not wise choices.
In the past we saw that growing corn for ethanol was net energy negative, which means wasteful.

Let Farmers grow food and end world hunger, a much higher purpose that fueling cars.

Steve - It looks as if Natural Gas will be the bridge / winner until a better/cleaner or cheaper solution is available. Hydrogen is just too expensive and cumbersome.

That could help make this quarter or next look better after taking the losses. That brings to mind a question. Were we just too far ahead of the market or is there a market at all? If, there is no market then, why will companies be investing in huge projects, except maybe in the industrial area and would they be better served with their own plants? Would they choose hydrogen and if so would it be green hydrogen?

Not sure if we ever sold them anything and received any trucks from them as was the agreement we had. At least Andy did not eneter this market and let someone else fail at it unlike he did with Hyvia, buses, etc.
