FERRARIS GROUP PLC:
CONTRACT GAINS
Ferraris Group plc ("Ferraris"), the international medical diagnostics and life
sciences group, which recently acquired Bionostics Inc for #18.7m, announces it
has won three significant contracts worth approximately #5.5m.
Two Agreements in Principle worth #4 million have been obtained from an
international pharmaceutical customer for the provision of clinical trials
services and the supply of both cardio and respiratory equipment. This work is
scheduled to start in the last calendar quarter of 2003 and will last for up to
24 months.
The contracts, terms of which are currently being finalised, represent the
largest combined cardio and respiratory contracts won since the acquisition of
Hertford Medical International (now Quantum Research UK Limited), in August 2002
and its integration with Ferraris's other global clinical trial services
operations. It also demonstrates the strategic importance of offering combined
cardio and respiratory professional services, using Ferraris's leading edge
diagnostic devices. Work on this project will be carried out in both the UK and
USA.
In addition, Metalcraft, the Ferraris Life Science subsidiary, based in
Cambridge, has been awarded a contract valued at #1.5m for VISTA (Visible and
Infrared Survey Telescope for Astronomy). This project is part of the Cerro
Paranal observatory of the European Southern Observatory based in Chile and is
scheduled for completion in 2006.
Commenting, Steven Mills, Chief Executive of Ferraris said:
"I am delighted that the hard work of our management teams have been rewarded
with these significant contracts."
