              Froneman Joins Gold Fields To Head Up Kloof Division



Johannesburg, Monday 15 April 2002: Gold Fields Limited ("Gold Fields") and JCI
Gold Limited ("JCI Gold") are pleased to announce that Neal Froneman has joined
Gold Fields as Vice President and Head of Operations of the Kloof Division, with
immediate effect.

This follows the completion of the work done on the restructuring of JCI Gold
into a resource finance company. Roger Kebble, Chairman of JCI Gold said: "Neal
played an important role in the investigation of the Freegold assets and, since
JCI Gold will not be focused on operating assets, his talents will be better
utilized at Gold Fields".

Ian Cockerill, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Gold Fields,
said: "We are delighted that Neal has agreed to join Gold Fields. He is a
seasoned and highly skilled mine operator and will add further depth to an
already strong management team at the Kloof Division."

Neal takes over from Howard Laycock who moves to the Gold Fields Corporate
Office to head up the Technical Services Division. "In his new role, Howard will
have the opportunity to apply his vast knowledge of and experience in gold
mining to the further development and strengthening of the specialist technical
disciplines within Gold Fields", said Cockerill.
