               "Cains Opens 'Best of British' Local Pub Concept"

Cains Beer Company PLC, the AIM-listed craft brewer and operator of 109 pubs, is
pleased to announce the opening in Glossop, Derbyshire of the first refurbished
pub, as part of a wider refurbishment and rebranding programme around the
Company's pub estate.

The newly named Market Tavern in Glossop has become the first pub in the Cains
estate to undergo a complete refurbishment as part of a #5 million investment by
Cains. A programme is in place to steadily transform unbranded pubs into a
cohesive pub estate predominately marked with the Cains brand. Cains branded
beers are already pouring across the bulk of the pub estate, however, it is
envisaged that the Cains' offer will include a range of different trading
options, depending on the type of pub and location.

The Market Tavern will reopen this week in its prime location opposite Glossop's
historic market and as well as a completely fresh make-over and frontage, the
pub - which was previously named 'Last Orders' - now has new management.

It is the first of what Cains is calling its 'Best of British' locals to be
rolled out since the company acquired its pub estate from Honeycombe Leisure
plc, first announced on 14 May 2007.

It will serve Cains' range of award-winning craft beers as well as Fair Trade
coffee and an enhanced food offering, including breakfast served from 10am.
Entertainments including pub games and pool have also been installed.

'Best of British' concept

The Market Tavern in Glossop is the first pub in what Cains is calling its 'Best
of British' local pub concept to be rolled out since the company acquired a pub
estate from Honeycombe Leisure plc, announced on 14 May 2007. The 'Best of
British' concept will highlight the longstanding heritage of the 'Traditional
British Local Pub', with an emphasis on craft beers, good 'home-cooked' food, a
family atmosphere and with traditional pub games, such as dominos, darts, bar
billiards alongside a TV sports offering. The traditional British local pub,
once an integral part of the heritage and landscape of British local community
life, has been in decline. Cains' concept seeks to make sure that this central
commodity in the 'Best of British' life is secure.
