Program enables compliance with 2008 FCC analog phase-out mandate
IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- DataLogic
International, Inc., (OTC Bulletin Board: DLGI; Berlin, Frankfurt
Stock Exchange: 779612) a provider of consulting services and
communication solutions including GPS- based mobile asset tracking,
secured mobile communications and VoIP, today announced its
BounceGPS(TM) Competitive Analog Trade-In Program. Under the
program, fleet managers whose fleets use older analog tracking
technology can trade in their analog units for a rebate of up to
$100 per unit toward a digital BounceGPS(TM) fleet tracking
solution. "As much as 90 percent of North America's estimated 2
million fleet delivery, service and construction industry vehicles
that use GPS tracking devices have yet to make the switch from
analog to digital GPS systems," commented David K. Daniels,
DataLogic International's Vice President of Marketing. The FCC has
ordered all wireless telephone carriers to phase out analog service
by 2008, and is also requiring carriers to show proof by the end of
the year that 95% of their customers have digital phones containing
chips that allow emergency operators to pinpoint a caller's
location. Customers with 10 or more competitive analog tracking
devices are eligible for the BounceGPS Competitive Analog Trade-In
Program. The analog devices must be in good working condition at
the time of trade-in, and customers must commit to a three-year
service agreement. BounceGPS customers will receive a rebate for
each competitive analog device traded in toward the purchase of a
BounceGPS digital fleet tracking solution. The amount of the rebate
will vary by the number of units traded in. * For 10 to 25 units,
the rebate is $25 per unit * For 26 to 50 units, the rebate is $50
per unit * For 51 to 100 units, the rebate is $75 per unit * For
more than 100 units, the rebate is $100 per unit The BounceGPS
Competitive Analog Trade-In Program will be open to the first 2,000
eligible analog units traded in. The BounceGPS Competitive Analog
Trade-In Program begins immediately and is available to customers
in the United States and Canada. For detailed information, visit:
