not 2,823,765 as stated in the original announcement.  The full corrected text
of the announcement is as follows:

Offer for subscription of ordinary shares ("the Offer")

The Directors of Downing Protected VCT IV plc are pleased to announce an
allotment on 31 January 2006 of 2,105,987 ordinary shares of 1p each ("Ordinary
Shares"),  payable at 100p per share, pursuant to the Offer that opened on 13
December 2005.

The Company now has 4,929,754 Ordinary Shares in issue.

Application will be made at the earliest practicable opportunity for these
shares, which will rank pari passu with existing ordinary shares, to be admitted
to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the London
Stock Exchange's market for listed securities.

The Offer is expected to remain open until 5 April 2006 unless previously
extended or fully subscribed earlier.
