SINGAPORE--Singapore state investment company Temasek Holdings has acquired a 5.5% stake in Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (IVN), a filing to the U.S. Securities Exchange Commission showed.

The filing, dated June 8, said that Temasek has bought 40.86 million shares in Ivanhoe, which is controlled by Rio Tinto PLC (RIO).

Financial details on how much Temasek paid for the shares weren't immediately available.
