CHEYENNE, Wyo., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd. (OTC:GLUX) (BULLETIN BOARD: GLUX) today announced preliminary passenger traffic results for the month of July 2008. Scheduled service generated 14,007,000 revenue passenger miles (RPM's), a 6.0 percent decrease from the same month last year. Available seat miles (ASM's) increased 11.8 percent to 32,272,000. As a result, load factor decreased 8.2 points to 43.40 percent. Passengers carried decreased 3.7 percent to 52,639 when compared to July 2007. Preliminary revenue per available seat mile (RASM) increased 3.1 percent from 30.97 cents to 31.94 cents. For the seven months ending July 31, 2008 compared to the same seven month period in 2007, revenue passenger miles (RPM's) increased 2.2 percent to 90,516,000 and available seat miles (ASM's) increased 11.4 percent to 200,260,000, resulting in a load factor of 45.20 percent for the year 2008 effecting a decrease in load factor of 4.1 points compared to the same seven month period in 2007. The company carried 336,837 revenue passengers for the seven month period ending July 31, 2008, a 3.4 percent increase from the prior year. Preliminary revenue per available seat mile (RASM) increased 6.0 percent from 29.49 cents to 31.27 cents on a year-over-year basis.
