HAMPTON TRUST PLC ("Hampton Trust" or the "Company")

RESULT OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING


On 28th February 2003 Hampton Trust announced that it had entered into a
conditional agreement to dispose of the entire issued share capital of Southend
Property Holdings PLC, subject to Shareholders' approval.

The Company announces that, at its extraordinary general meeting held earlier
today, the Resolution approving the Disposal was passed by Shareholders.
Accordingly, it is expected that the Disposal will be completed by 21st March
2003.

Terms used in this announcement have the same meanings as those used in the
Company's announcement released on 28th February 2003, unless the context
otherwise requires.
