TORONTO, June 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Magellan Aerospace Corporation announced today that its
wholly-owned subsidiary in Haverhill,
MA., Middleton Aerospace, has achieved the globally
recognized ISO 14001 certification for its Environmental
Management System.
ISO 14001 certification requires the development of a formalized
Environmental Management System (EMS) and a review by a third party
auditor to demonstrate that the EMS meets rigorous international
standards for minimizing the company's impact on the environment.
The EMS of Middleton Aerospace must demonstrate a commitment to
comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations,
continual improvement in minimizing environmental impact of
operations and products, and motivation of employees to take
personal accountability for protecting the environment and creating
a safe and healthy workplace. Only companies with excellent
environmental programs qualify for this globally recognized
certification.
ISO 14001 is a standard created by the International
Organization for Standardization that establishes requirements and
guidelines for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). ISO is a
non-governmental developer of world standards for business,
government and society.
