Prices go up and down in the stock market. The board at IONQ decided to change the CEO to advance the company. Nothing nefarious there, as it happens all the time.

The share price was rising daily until Jensen Huang made disparagimg comments questioning the viability of quantum in the near future. That killed the momentum and then investors took a look at the balance sheet and realized the company is not profitable, at this time.

A company can only go so far on hope and hype. At some point, the lines cross and earnings and profits become important.

When filing a lawsuit, the theory is to go after the deep pockets. Perhaps this is laying the groundwork to go after Jensen for his comments that crushed everything quantum?

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

Blue. I just caught the last part of the interview on cnbc with Niccolo Di Masi. What I caught was great! The guy is very up beat and got across at the end that quantum was here now. It seemed the interviewer was a bit skeptical. Jensen did some real damage to all quantum corporations. It will take a little while to prove him wrong. I’m hoping at his conference March 19,20,21 that he will be shut down and made to eat crow. Niccolo needs to be there to give more examples of sales and bookings at our 3 data centers etc. I’ll see if his interview is on u tube or our website. 😎🤙

Another day like today and it may be below $22. As I said a few weeks ago, this could end up back in the $10 range (and was chastised for voicing that observation).

I heard a guy on Fox business touting Quantum, too. He’s says “it’s coming.”

Many of these important patents may force all quantum roads to run through IONQ. So they are building and preparing for leadership in a quantum future.

That will also catch the attention of the big players in the field. In my opinion, at some point, one of the big dogs will need to acquire IONQ, to maintain a presence or leadership role in quantum. It could become to costly for a large corporation, not to acquire IONQ.

A company strives to do well and does. The report is published, and the company beats estimates handily. The investors in the stock rightly expect to be rewarded. Yet the stock price decreases in the face of these great financials. And it's because they didn't beat as much as the market thinks they should have beaten estimates. A company beats expectations for 9 quarters in a row and it's punished??

There's not much sense in it, is there?

I hate to say this but purely looking at financials? IONQ should be lower still. Do NOT get me wrong. I'm not hoping for investors here to suffer. Far from it. I hope everyone makes a boatload of money here. But still.

And you can't say it's just "forward looking" expectations. Sure, IONQ has some great things to look forward to. But NVDA also just guided for strong earnings for the rest of the year. THAT'S "forward looking" also. But you can see what is happening to the stock price.

At any rate - I hope IONQ recovers and does well for its investors.

It reminds me of when flat screen televisions first appeared. They cost $25k and were 42 inches at best. The tv cost a lot to produce and at that price point, obviously wasn't mainstream for an average person to buy.

But they knew it was the future and kept investing in improvements. The tvs went from plasma to LCD, to LED. They were able to offer larger and larger tvs, significantly cheaper prices and the tvs also weighed much less.

Now everyone has large flat screen tvs and they have become disposable. No one repairs a tv anymore. If there is a problem, throw it away and buy a new one, because the prices have come down so far.

Quantum may follow a similar path. At the moment, it is very expensive and in its infancy. As progress and discoveries are made in the field, prices will come down and services and technology will increase.

Sadly, unrealistic expectations.

Having the product list with normal retail prices might generate a little bit more interest from corporations if there were some profit, making applications or at least some money savings from the use of the products.

Earnings calls, whether positive or negative, doesn’t seem to matter lately. Look at what’s happening to NVDA this morning. Top and bottom beats with a larger forecast for next quarter’s outlook and it is getting punished. They beat by over $2 billion, which is more than most companies sell in a quarter and it isn’t good enough. Market is weird.
