Stellantis has named Antonio Filosa to succeed Christian Meunier at the helm of its Jeep brand as chief executive.

The company, formed by the combination of Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot maker PSA Group, said Filosa would assume his role at the brand on Nov. 1 as Meunier prepares to take a long break to focus on personal interests.

"The circumstances of life must make us accept the personal decisions of our colleagues," said Stellantis Chief Executive Carlos Tavares.

Emanuele Cappellano, currently North America CEO and group strategy and corporate development director at Marcolin Group, will replace Filosa as chief operating officer of Stellantis South America.

Ashwani Muppasani, currently China National Sales Company head, will replace Carl Smiley as chief operating officer of Stellantis India and Asia Pacific.

Cappellano and Muppasani will also step in on Nov. 1.
