IRVING, Texas, March 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: EFJI) announced that it has been awarded a $560,000 contract by Clay County, Florida to upgrade its dispatch centers with the Company's StarGate Dispatch Consoles.

"Clay County, an established customer operating an EFJohnson Multi-Net® system, chose our StarGate solution because of its award-winning features and ease of migration to Project 25," said Michael Jalbert, president and chief executive officer of EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. "Among the most notable features include an advanced, user interface and the superior, high fidelity sound of its custom audio design.  Dispatchers find StarGate visually appealing and its ease of use greatly reduces a dispatcher's learning curve."

"Also, StarGate will allow Clay County to optimize space for its sheriff and fire dispatch operations since StarGate's Internet Protocol (IP) based design interfaces with the Multi-Net system without requiring additional central switch equipment.  Additionally, when Clay County is ready to migrate to Project 25, StarGate will allow the migration without interrupting its operations.  The upgrade, which will replace the customer's current Multi-Net dispatch consoles, will be phased into the county's four dispatch centers throughout 2010 and completed in early 2011," Jalbert added.
