A Total of $50,000 Awarded to Support Children
of Employees Nationwide
As students head to colleges and trade schools this fall, seven
students will do so with a total of $50,000 in scholarships from
Corvias Foundation in support of their dreams. This summer, Corvias
Foundation is continuing its annual tradition of awarding
scholarships to children of Corvias employees from across the
nation. Among the 19 students who applied for the scholarship, the

An Evolving Approach to Inclusively Supporting
Students
Of note, this approach expands from previous years’ awards to a
smaller cohort, while continuing to offer a larger-than-average
award size, based on benchmark data. Qualified applicants were
blindly evaluated by a panel that awarded weighted amounts related
to academic performance and financial need. As a result, Corvias
Foundation is offering a high-quality scholarship while
simultaneously increasing the inclusivity of the community of
scholars and offering broader benefits to Corvias employees. This
fits into a larger strategy to support students’ futures; in fact,
the Corvias Foundation has supported more than 450
military-connected families with more than $15 million in
scholarship awards since 2006.
An Impressive Array of Scholarship Recipients
The 2024 scholarship recipients reflect a very talented, very
capable group of deserving students, with varied interests and
needs. Corvias Foundation is excited to support their dreams and
see them succeed in their academic careers.
“The seven students distinguished themselves academically
through advanced placement in honors courses and engaged in dual
enrollment opportunities where they earn college credits,” said
Julie Allen, executive director of Corvias Foundation. She noted
the seniors demonstrated commitment to serving their community
through activities such as peer tutoring, peer wellness support
projects, aiding the unhoused community and those experiencing food
insecurity, as well as joining organizations like the Humane
Society.
Allen added, “All seven recipients overcame their own obstacles
and have a wide range of interests into which they invest their
time, efforts, and passion. These students have clear goals in mind
that they hope to achieve with the help of higher education, and we
are so glad to invest in them as a gateway to unlocking their true
capabilities and boundless potential.”
The 2024 Corvias Children of Employee Scholarship
Recipients
“We are exceptionally proud of all the students we selected for
this scholarship,” Allen said. “With an ever-changing landscape in
technology, communications, education, and science, these students
will face challenges and opportunities in their academic and
professional careers that are unfamiliar to the generations that
came before them. We hope they will continue to rise to the
occasion and excel in their chosen fields of study as they work to
achieve their dreams.”
Sanaa Bibbs Parent: Ebony Grayson Graduate of Meade High
School, Fort Meade, MD Will attend Clark Atlanta University to
study Business Administration
“Ms. Bibbs sought out rigorous courses, opted into
dual-enrollment opportunities, and prepared for college by
challenging herself to engage in activities new to her,” Allen
said. “We are confident she will continue to seek out ways to
challenge herself and grow as she has done at Meade High
School.”
Keithon Cunningham Parent: Jessica Cunningham Graduate of
Northside Methodist Academy, Dothan, AL Will attend University of
Mobile to major in Nursing
“Keithon’s academic record was balanced against his consistent
involvement as a student athlete, in school-sponsored community
projects, his church, and the wider community,” Allen said. “His
involvement in these activities has influenced him, highlighting
the empathy he has for others, and the integrity and authenticity
with which he approaches those relationships.”
Katelyn McCracken Parent: Aaron McCracken Graduate of
Manhattan High School, Manhattan, KS Will attend Brigham Young
University to major in Microbiology
“Katelyn achieved an outstanding academic record as well as a
high level of involvement in other activities,” Allen said. “Her
application showed a standout student who was driven not only for
academic success, but equally motivated to develop a deep
understanding of the things she was learning.”
Joseph Sara Parent: Aujon Mosley Graduate of Heritage
High School, Frisco, TX Will attend Howard University to major in
Political Science
“By seeking out dual enrollment courses and formal pre-college
programs, Joseph has demonstrated his commitment to his future
success, which includes using his education to promote justice and
equity,” Allen said.
Owen Schenck Parent: Richard Schenck Graduate of Mount
Hope High School, Bristol, RI Will attend Rhode Island College to
major in Computer Science
“Owen’s work ethic was demonstrated through his commitment to
Cross Country,” Allen said. “He leveraged the discipline and
outlook he developed as an athlete to grow his leadership skills
and successfully applies them across his academics, work, the
community, and his plans for the future.”
Kalea Stein Parent: Cary Stein Graduate of Bel Air High
School, Bel Air, MD Will attend Coastal Carolina University to
study Journalism and Sports Media
“Kalea had a combination of athletic achievements, a variety of
co-curricular pursuits and a strong academic performance,” said
Allen. “The resilience and grit with which she has accepted and
overcome the challenges presented to her will serve her well in the
future.”
MaKenna Villwok Parent: Beverly Villwok Graduate of
Elkhorn High School, Elkhorn, NE Will attend Kansas State to dual
major in Political Science and Economics
“Two themes permeated MaKenna’s application: a continuous
commitment to achieve her full potential, and the desire to help
others do the same. MaKenna’s hard work also influenced those
around her through acts of caring, selflessness, respect, and
dedication.”
