General Electric to Sell Lighting Business to Savant Systems

General Electric Co. Wednesday said it agreed to sell its
lighting business to privately held Savant Systems Inc. for an
undisclosed amount.
The Boston conglomerate said the sale is another step in its
transformation into a more focused industrial company.
GE said the lighting business will remain headquartered in
Cleveland, with its more than 700 employees transferring to Savant
upon completion of the transaction, expected in mid-2020.
GE added that Savant will continue to use the GE brand under a
long-term licensing agreement.
