Bema Gold Corporation ("the Company")



Grant of Options



The Company announces that on 5 April 2006, options over 7,050,000 common shares
of no par value in the Company ("the Options") were granted to directors,
officers and employees at an exercise price of CAD$5.32.



45 per cent of the Options were granted with immediate effect. Owing to the
Options being greater than the number currently available under the Company's
Stock Option Plan ("the Plan"), the remaining 55 per cent of the Options were
granted conditional upon shareholders approving an increase in the Plan at the
Company's AGM on 21 June 2006.



3,800,000 of the Options were granted to directors of the Company in the
quantities set out below:
