Home Office Expands Drugs Intervention Programme using Cozart Products and
                                    Services

          - HO commences roll out of National Drug Testing Standards -

Abingdon, Oxfordshire, 30 July 2007 - Cozart plc ('Cozart' or the 'Company'),
the medical diagnostics company, notes the Home Office's release of guidelines
allowing police forces in England and Wales to expand and extend the Drug
Interventions Programme ("DIP") using the Cozart RapiScan system.

The expansion is possible following the release by the Home Office of "Guidance
for Partnership Areas" applying for intensive Drug Interventions Programme
status, a key component of which is drug testing in custody suites. This will
enable police forces who are not currently involved in the programme to sign up
providing they meet the various requirements set by the DIP including the
ability to fund testing locally.

The DIP uses the Cozart RapiScan point-of-contact oral fluid drug testing system
to test the saliva of arrestees, in just 3 minutes, for the presence of cocaine,
crack cocaine and heroin in the police custody suite. Currently 173 police
custody suites across England and Wales perform this type of testing (there are
over 600 custody suites in England and Wales).

Home Office figures illustrate that the DIP is successful in helping reduce
drug-related crime in England and Wales. Since it began, acquisitive crime - to
which drug-related crime makes a substantial contribution - has fallen by a
fifth.

The Guidance is also expected to encourage police forces already involved in the
DIP, but not testing force-wide, to expand their current testing across the
police area.

Cozart recently announced the award of an additional contract to perform
supplementary laboratory testing by GC/MS (gas chromatography with mass
spectrometry) in support of the point-of-contact testing. This laboratory
testing service will also expand as new sites begin the DIP on-site testing
process.

Dr Chris Hand, Cozart Chief Executive said, "This roll out of the DIP scheme is
a significant endorsement of the success of the programme of which saliva drug
testing in custody, using the Cozart RapiScan system, is an integral part.
Cozart are aware of many police areas which have expressed an interest in
joining the DIP: this includes police forces that currently perform testing who
intend to roll out force wide and forces which intend to begin this type of
testing for the first time. We expect the first of these extensions to begin
within the next few weeks. With testing currently in 173 of the total of more
than 600 sites across England & Wales there is significant potential for
expansion."
