Nottingham Building Society's Board is pleased
to announce that Robin Ashton has been appointed Chair of the Board
with effect from 1 July 2024. He succeeds Andrew Neden, who is
stepping down and retiring after ten years on the Board, having
served as Chair since April 2020.
Robin joined the Board of Directors in December
2023. He has enjoyed a successful and varied executive and
non-executive career in financial services with a strong track
record in leading transformative change and driving business growth
in several different organisations.
He currently serves as Non-Executive Director
and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at Domestic &
General Group (since 2019) where he has overseen a period of
expansion and digital transformation.
Former roles include:
· Chair
of Leeds Building Society between 2013 and 2020 during which time
the Society experienced significant asset growth whilst also making
strategic investments in technology and digital
services.
·
Non-Executive Director, Senior Independent Director and Chair
of the Remuneration Committee at Shawbrook Bank between 2011 and
2022 during which he oversaw a period of sustained
growth.
As Chair of Nottingham Building Society, his
experience will play a vital role in overseeing the Society's
ongoing transformation journey, centred around its commitment to
helping more people own their own home.
Andrew Neden, outgoing Chair, said, "I am
delighted that Robin will be taking over as Chair of the Board.
It's been a privilege to serve on the board for the last 10 years
and as Chair since 2020.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank
the many colleagues and our members for their support. Since
joining the Board in December Robin has proven his experience will
be invaluable to Nottingham Building Society as it enters the next
stage of its journey and I wish him and the team well."
Commenting on his new position, Robin Ashton
said:
"On behalf of the Board, I
would like to thank Andrew Neden for his significant contribution
to the Society since 2014, and in particular for his commitment and
exemplary leadership as Chair over the past four years.
"Nottingham Building Society has a rich heritage
and loyal customer base, and I see great potential for growth as we
continue our transformation journey to serve better the needs of
today's borrowers and savers. I am looking forward to working
with CEO Sue Hayes and the team to help deliver our vision of
increasing home ownership and continuing to provide an attractive
savings proposition for our members."
