                                Grant of Options


The Board of Zirax plc ("Zirax plc" or "the Company") announces that on 2
October 2006 the Company granted options over 1,723,214 ordinary shares of 1p
each in the share capital of the Company ("Shares") to Sir Michael Oliver, the
Non-Executive Chairman of the Company and options over 861,607 ordinary shares
of 1p each in the share capital of the Company ("Shares") to David Wood, a
Non-Executive Director of the Company.


The grant of options was made under the Company's share option scheme, with an
exercise price of 15p per Share until 2 October 2011.
