NEW YORK, May 16, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- S&P MidCap
400 constituent Kansas City Southern (NYSE: KSU) will replace Dean
Foods Co. (NYSE: DF) in the S&P 500, the Dean Foods Co. stub
(NYSE: DFwi) will replace Kansas City Southern in the S&P
MidCap 400, and The WhiteWave Foods Co. (NYSE: WWAVwi) will replace
Quicksilver Resources Inc. (NYSE: KWK) in the S&P MidCap 400
after the close of trading on Thursday, May
23. Dean Foods is spinning off a portion of its remaining
equity interest in WhiteWave in a transaction expected to be
completed on or around that date, pending final approvals. The
reduced market capitalization of Dean Foods after the spin-off will
make it more representative of the midcap market space. Quicksilver
Resources is ranked 400th in the S&P MidCap 400 and
is no longer representative of the midcap market space.
Kansas City Southern engages in the freight rail transportation
business. Headquartered in Kansas City,
MO, the company will be added to the S&P 500 GICS
(Global Industry Classification Standard) Railroads Sub-Industry
index.
Dean Foods is a food and beverage company. Headquartered in
Dallas, TX, the company will be
added to the S&P MidCap 400 GICS Packaged Foods & Meats
Sub-Industry index.
WhiteWave Foods is a consumer packaged food and beverage
company. Headquartered in Dallas,
TX, the company will be added to the S&P MidCap 400 GICS
Packaged Foods & Meats Sub-Industry index.
