Rain Technology, creator of the world’s most advanced
directional display technologies, today announced the release of
Display Screen Branding™, a switchable privacy display solution.
Manufacturers of laptops and monitors, smartphones, point-of-sale
systems, ATMs, and automotive displays can increase the marketing
value and customer experience of every screen, while controlling
the viewing angle for privacy.
Display Screen Branding and other Rain Technology innovations
will debut at:
- Touch Taiwan, April 24-26, 2024, in Taipei
- SID Display Week, May 14-16, 2024, in San Jose, California

the edge on new functionality for LCD and OLED displays across many
industries — automotive, retail POS, ATM, and consumer

promotional message — even when the display is off or the device is

For example:
- In a retail point-of-sale or ATM system, Display Screen
Branding is embedded in Rain Technology’s switchable privacy
display technologies (public or private mode) to show a logo or
explanatory text to those outside of the central viewing angle
during a transaction.
- In an automotive setting, Display Screen Branding leverages the
increasing pillar-to-pillar real estate consumed by screens to
provide a branding opportunity, even when the car is off and not
displaying content. When the automobile is turned on and the
passenger infotainment system is enabled, the switchable screen
minimizes distraction by presenting only a static brand message to
the driver.
Manufacturing partner Cheng Mei Materials Technology Corp.
(CMMT) will debut Display Screen Branding in Booth 4F, L912 at
Touch Taiwan. The company will also be demonstrating automotive
No-Driver-Distraction™, POS, and laptop switchable privacy
technologies from Rain Technology.
