GE to Pay France EUR50 Million Fine for Failing to Meet Hiring Pledge -AFP

--General Electric will pay the French government a fine of 50
million euros ($57.2 million) after failing to meet a pledge it
made to create 1,000 new jobs in the country by the end of 2018,
AFP reports, citing sources in the French finance ministry.
--GE created a total of 25 jobs in France after it made the
pledge as part of its 2015 purchase of Alstom's power and
electrical grid business, AFP writes.
