QuadraMed Corporation (Amex:QD) today announced general
availability of the QuadraMed M5 release. This release includes a
comprehensive series of enhancements across the companys
Care-Based Revenue Cycle solutions for Access and Identity
Management, Care Management, Health Information and Revenue Cycle
Management. Developed in cooperation with QuadraMed clients, the
release provides significant increases in overall functionality and
capability to help clients improve their quality of care and
leverage those improvements into positive financial performance. To
improve quality and patient safety, QuadraMed M5 provides
enhancements to nine Care Management products including QuadraMed
Patient and Medication Charting, Order Management, Pharmaceutical
Checking and the Clinical Workstation Physician module, which
incorporates Clinician Access and Documentation, Prescription
Writing and CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry). These
enhancements include substantial data retrieval and display
improvements for ease of use, built-in Intelligent Care Sets for
reminders and patient care considerations, and alerts and warnings
to further improve clinical decision support. The Emergency
Department is the source for approximately fifty percent of the
admissions for many hospitals. To improve efficiency and safety,
the QuadraMed M5 release adds enhanced capability to track ED
patients in the Access Management products. And to increase
productivity in Health Information Management (HIM) departments,
the release provides for improved workflow by centralizing access
to the information used to efficiently code an encounter using the
Medical Records Abstract/DRG product. Within QuadraMeds Revenue
Cycle Management solution, a major upgrade was made to the manner
in which clinicians are identified and associated with a patients
visit. The Revenue Cycle Management products now include support
for the National Provider Identifier and identifying clinicians in
roles other than physician. The highly rated QuadraMed EDI
applications now provide greater support to the evolving use of 835
for posting payments and adjustments, and process enhancements were
made for use in the creation of 837 electronic claims. QuadraMeds
Central Business Office product now includes exception-driven
aggregator worklist functionality that can span multiple hospitals.
