AIM RELEASE

KIMBERLEY DIAMOND COMPANY NL (AIM: KDC)
GEM DIAMONDS AUSTRALIA LIMITED TAKEOVER BID REACHES 90%

Kimberley Diamond Company NL (the Company) has been notified by Gem Diamonds
Australia Pty Ltd (GDAPL) that it now has a relevant interest in 93.03% of the
Company's issued ordinary share capital and intends to proceed with the
compulsory acquisition of the outstanding shares in the Company. A copy of
GDAPL's notice is available at www.asx.com.au.

As foreshadowed in previous releases, GDAPL has also advised that it intends to
proceed to seek delisting of the Company's shares from the ASX and the
cancellation of the Company's admission on AIM. The last day of trading in the
Company's shares on ASX will be determined shortly and on AIM is expected to be
21 December 2007.
