The latest order update from Boeing Co. (BA) on Thursday confirmed the cancellation by China Eastern Airlines Corp. (CEA, 0670.HK) of a deal to buy 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliners, with the carrier swapping out for 45 single-aisle 737 planes.

The move was reported last year and marked one of the largest cancellations for the delayed 787, though it owed much to China Eastern refocusing its expansion on domestic routes rather than long-haul international services.

Boeing also announced an additional two 787 orders from Air New Zealand Ltd. (AIR.NZ), launch customer for the stretched 787-9 version of the Dreamliner, which is due to arrive in the first quarter of 2014.

The Boeing update through Tuesday included the cancellation of two 737 orders from unidentified customers.

Taiwan's EVA Airways Corp. (2618.TW) said Thursday it was in talks to acquire seven Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
