                   Notification of Major Interests in Shares

On 24th June 2003, Volex Group p.l.c. received notifications pursuant to section
198 Companies Act 1985 confirming the following;

Royal Mail Pensions Trustees Limited and Possfund Custodian Trustee Ltd have
increased their material interest in the shares of Volex Group p.l.c. following
the return of 113,000 ordinary 25p shares, representing 0.395% of the Company's
issued share capital, which had previously been loaned. As at 23 June 2003,
their direct holding following this transaction was 1,504,381 ordinary 25p
shares, representing 5.260% of the Company's issued share capital. These shares
are registered in the name of PossFund Nominees Ltd.

As a direct consequence of the return of the loaned shares referred to above the
Trustees of the BT Pension Scheme, Hermes Investment Management Limited and
Hermes Pensions Management Limited, which have a non-material interest in the
shares of Volex Group p.l.c. have increased their interest to 13.001%
representing a direct holding of 3,718,555 ordinary 25p shares. These shares are
registered in the names of BriTel Fund Nominees Ltd and Possfund Nominees Ltd,
which now hold 2,214,174 and 1,504,381ordinary 25p shares respectively.
