SANTA ROSA, Calif.,
Oct. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/
-- Democrasoft, Inc. (OTC: PinkSheets: DEMO) today announced
that Democrasoft's WeJIT™ technology is now available directly to
authors who are self-publishing their e-books. WeJITs, created by
an author and embedded in an e-book, allows an e-book reader to
communicate directly with the author, with other readers from
within the e-book, and with new individuals outside the book, who
can participate in book-based discussions, expanding a book's
readership and reach.
This new service for authors comes in the wake of the recent
joint-announcement by Democrasoft, VOOK, and Waterside Productions,
of the world's first two-way interactive e-book, made possible by
WeJIT technology. The top selling book 11 Days in May, by JD
Messinger and published by Waterfront Digital Press, included 32
embedded WeJIT discussions, enabling the author and readers to
interact with each other from inside the e-book. That announcement
quickly led to requests from other authors around the country to
have the same WeJIT capabilities in their own e-books. Today's
announcement is part of Democrasoft's response to those
requests.
The WeJITs for Authors program
(http://www.mywejit.com/wordpress/authors) makes it possible for
self-published authors to embed WeJITs into their e-books with just
a few clicks. In many cases, published authors will be introduced
to this WeJIT capability by their own publishers, working through
Waterside Productions, who represents Democrasoft throughout the
publishing world on a non-exclusive basis
(http://finance.yahoo.com/news/waterside-represent-wejits-e-books-100300507.html).
However, the newly announced Democrasoft site is specifically for
authors who are self-publishing their e-books without the help of
3rd party publishers.
According to Democrasoft Chairman & CEO Richard Lang "Offering WeJIT capability directly
to self-published authors not yet affiliated with a publisher, will
expand the availability of multi-way interactive
author-reader-reader experiences inside of e-books. It will enable
authors to have a reach and reader engagement that is far greater
than what the traditional e-book experience currently affords."
The WeJITs for Authors program is designed to increase both new
hardcover and e-book sales, due to the WeJIT's interactive nature
and the readers' ability to share individual book-based discussions
outside of the current e-book community. Readers can forward the
URL for any embedded WeJIT discussion to anyone, even those who
don't yet have the book and may have never heard of it. New WeJIT
participants then have the opportunity to purchase the book and
other offerings, directly from the author(s).
"Self-published authors are looking for new ways to promote
their e-books in a hyper-competitive market place. With the
WeJIT, self-promotion can be done by the very people that are the
most involved with a book, the readers themselves," said Lang.
