GateKeeper USA, Inc. (OTC: GTKP.PK), announced today that ratification of the Rotterdam Rules should encourage the use of Container Security Devices (CSD).

In a recently published article on 3/31/2011, from The Maritime Executive (http://www.maritime-executive.com/article/what-the-rotterdam-rules-should-do-for-global-supply-chain-security) Dr. James Giermanski states “…the Rotterdam Rules should encourage vessel carriers to use some form of container security device (CSD) or suggest to their shipper-customers to use CSDs that will provide the identity of an accountable agent at stuffing who verifies cargo and quantity, potentially limiting or mitigating the vessel carriers' legal responsibility and providing an increased degree of security to comply with government needs and mandates." Dr. Giermanski also goes on to state, "More than that, these Rules should have a positive impact on this nation's security by enhancing our existing supply chain security programs and by encouraging the use of container security systems that augment the Rules by verifying the cargo, tracking the container's movement, detecting and reporting unauthorized access and reporting any violation of the cargo movement's integrity."

“This is excellent news for GateKeeper USA. As we prepare for the commercial launch of our Advanced Container Security Device (ACSD) the CAMS device, the ratification of the Rotterdam Rules by the US Senate, will help to pave the way for market entry. As implementation and utilization of the CAMS device can help to insure compliance in accordance with the Rotterdam Rules,” stated John Leontakianakos, Sr. Vice President.

The United States is a signatory to the Rotterdam Rules and a timely and expedited ratification by the US Senate is expected.
