You don't remember President Trump calling out......
the Euro's to their faces for the pipeline from Russia? It was in his first term. He told them they were stupid, and he was proven right.....again.
Does Europe need Russia or the other way around so that Putin can enact his policies like invading Ukraine and possibly Goergia next.
Europe knows Putin has them by the short hairs because they are DEPENDENT upon him. That's a position of weakness.
Nord Stream (German–English mixed expression for "North Stream"; Russian: ???????? ?????, Severny potok) is a network of offshore natural gas pipelines which run under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany to provide Western Europe with natural gas.
Now, the example above applies to steel, medicines, etc.
Cheaper is worthless in a time of war. Just ask Europe, as they help fund Putin's war on Ukraine.

I wonder what would happen if other vehicles……
that weren’t Tesla’s were vandalized.
Hmmm
Drill baby drill is about energy independence. We don’t want to be like Europe who depends on Putin for energy needs.
Steel production in the US peaked in the ‘70’s, and China has been kicking our butt ever sense.
Other EVs don't have Nazi CEOs who suddenly dabble in politics firing Federal workers to advance their own power and standing.
Do you think people will start buying the Tesla swasticars because they will forget what MuskRAT is doing to this country~? Hhhmmmmm
We are already energy independent ~! Yes, even before Trumpy Bear declared "drill baby drill". Dahhhhhhh~!
And more like Russia is dependent on Europe to buy energy. Russia is cash starved. Does Europe need Russia or the other way around so that Putin can enact his policies like invading Ukraine and possibly Goergia next.
And as for steel production in the US going overseas to places like China...... who's fault was that~? Lack of modern steel plants, cheaper to make steel overseas due to labor costs (no unions who must be paid premiums). Capitalist systems look for the best value for the dollar found that in China.
Unions - the unionized worker was by then making so much, had so many fringes and benefits, the hourly cost was enormous. They literally priced themselves out of the market. They blame the greedy capitalists, but it was the greedy capitalists who agreed to their contract demands, under duress, and paid them all those years. They got their demands, but now are bitter because a competitor showed up they couldn’t force to unionize. Who were really the greedy ones? It’s also why, as car manufacturing is returning to the US, it’s going to free-work states like Kentucky and Tennessee, not states like Michigan or Ohio where unions are still powerful.
Modernization - US steel mills were getting pretty old. They were labor intensive. Chinese mills were brand new. They could automate more and generate pretty good steel for most purposes. Specialty steel remained here. The cost to modernize vs the cost to get it from China was in the short term a good decision for the bottom line. Lately, of course, the long term outlook for trade with China isn’t nearly so bright. One poster said the total US steel output has remained steady for 30 years. But the population has more than doubled…. Use of steel has increased even faster than that. In other words the steel industry is a third of what it could have been.
Environment - much of the energy to run a steel mill was from coal. Coal was dirty, smoke was dirty, mills were dirty and generated lots of slag and ash. The environmentalists were bound and determined to close down dirty industries. They nearly shut down all coal mining, particularly as their pressures on the EPA, and those new regulations passed on to the mills, created more expense to keep effluent clean, and to do something non-polluting with the slag and coal ash. Those pressures to spend huge resources on cleanup, timed with China’s entry into the market, was a siren song to the investors.
More modern mills will now use electricity to melt the ore and blend the steel, but that meant power plants (and what fuels power plants? Coal? Natural gas?) had to be built to provide the energy to generate that heat. New plants, particularly if using gas, are a lot cleaner than earlier ones.
As the economics of a modern and automated plant become clearer, steel production may be returning to the US, gradually.
With this administration's deleting regulations, environmental, and otherwise, the devaluation of the dollar should help........ LOL~! But at what cost to the consumers (us)~?
So, where are the solutions here~? Quick to point the finger but have NOTHING to offer.
And not going to apologize for not being on board with an EV company run by a Nazi CEO.
If people are fine with riding with Hitler, more power to them. Listen to Kanye West rap too.
I feel really terrible I can't join you and the other MAGAs. Tesla is not for me. Nor is MuskRAT.

The biojunk is not good for small engines.......
My Toro zero turn manufacturer recommends less than 10% ethanol, which is only available at one location where I live.
Speaking of whining, that's all I see Anti-Tesla nut jobs doing because of his politics.
As long as he was giving the Dems money, all was well, but when those billion$ went elsewhere, it was war!
Maybe the RWer's should start keying all vehicles that aren't Tesla's, among other things.
You would definitely see the Dems speak out about that instead of remaining silent like they are now.

I do not condone violence or arson if this is arson, but your hero Elon should shut his F'g mouth and stop bashing our friends and allies in Europe and promoting the Nazi's and getting in bed with Putin, the murderous dictator, and calling decorated fighter pilots, astronauts and respected US Senators a "traitor" for defending freedom and Western democracies. Just sayin'!
And what about Elon's hypocritical bullshit in Wisconsin this weekend, bashing protesters for being backed by George Soros while at the same time Elon bought votes by handing out 2 $1 Million checks to individuals promoting his agenda to buy more votes. SMFH
