Citizens Banking Corporation Appoints Forbes Chief Marketing and Communications Officer

FLINT, Mich., Oct. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sherry Forbes has
been appointed chief marketing and communications officer for
Citizens Banking Corporation (NASDAQ:CBCF). The announcement was
made by William R. Hartman, chairman, president and CEO of the
corporation. In this position Forbes will lead the marketing,
corporate communications and product development and management
efforts for the company. "The chief marketing and communications
officer is a critical position within our company," Hartman said.
"Sherry's strong and proven strategic and execution focus will
enable her to make a significant contribution to our vision of
becoming a leading Midwestern franchise." Cathleen H. Nash,
executive vice president and head of consumer banking, said,
"Sherry brings strong strategic and execution capabilities. Her
background provides the skills and abilities that will help guide
our company both in the short and long term." Forbes, who has over
20 years of experience in banking, joins the company from SunTrust
Bank in Atlanta, Ga. Prior to this appointment she was a first vice
president and senior strategy manager for the branch banking
division of the retail line of business. From 2001-2003 she was a
vice president and corporate strategy manager for marketing.
Throughout her career, Forbes has served in a variety of capacities
including 10 years in branch management, strategic planning and
sales development. Sherry has a bachelor's degree from Longwood
University in Virginia and an MBA in marketing from Georgia State
University. She is currently a member of the Platform Investment
Sales Committee for the Consumer Bankers Association, headquartered
